[Platformer Tutorial AS2]

Tutorials in flash?

I for one like text-based tutorials with examples better than movies. Or like gotoandlearn.com, that works.

Besides that, I don't know how many people still use AS2 but I asume it's getting less and less. There are enough tutorials online for AS2.

It's a good tutorial if you compare it with others here on NewGrounds though ;)

Reason: It's boring. No powerups or what so ever. Just a random dodge thingy, I didn't see any faster gameplay over-time either.

I have updated the game to have increasing difficulty. Power ups... all I could think of was speed +, but that caused the walls to screw up for some reason.

This looks more like a tutorial for yourself than a real effort to try to make something nice for the public.

Hmm

Nothing personal, but I don't think everyone will press the button and read all the comments. It's funny, but it doesn't stay funny for that long. Maybe you could make it a bit more interactive, more options / secrets etc.

For a simple game it's nice. It has a nice feeling, and man, elephants in lemonade, that'll be a hype! :P Anyway, just like people said with the game I added yesterday: it needs more speed/powerups/challange :P And highscores! It's always nice to see what other people make of it.

Hi there,

At first: funny game. But it does need some work. The spotlight doesn't move naturally (it goes with 10px per step?), and a 'click' sound would be nice when you try to shoot the ball.

I really hope you update it, because this can be very addictive!

Yeah I wanted to do alot with this but,
I set frame rate too low..and by the time it was a problem I was halfway through the game.
I also had alot of trouble finding good free sounds..
But I def want to remake this/make a sequel.
